Comedian Yang Sang-guk, who was recently enjoying a second peak in his career, has found himself at the center of a controversy regarding his attitude on the web variety show ‘Pinggyego’. This has led many to revisit a past physiognomy analysis of his face.

Last month on SBS ‘My Little Old Boy’, physiognomist Park Sung-joon analyzed the cast’s faces. Park, who is well-known for the physiognomy special on ‘Infinite Challenge’, analyzed Yang Sang-guk’s features, stating, “Excessive desire is evident in the cheekbones and large nose, but the receding chin suggests poor decision-making.”
Park further provided a harsh diagnosis, noting that Yang has a “typical horse face” with a horizontal wrinkle at the bridge of the nose. He explained that this line implies “obstacles,” “frustration,” and “failure despite efforts.” As Yang Sang-guk hit a roadblock with this “attitude controversy” just as his popularity was rising, netizens are reacting, with some asking, “Is physiognomy a science?” and others suggesting that “excessive desire seems to have brought this misfortune.”

During his appearance on the web variety show ‘Pinggyego’ released on the 2nd, Yang Sang-guk sparked conversation with his extreme views on dating. He left the set bewildered by stating, “Unlike men in Seoul, I don’t take my girlfriend home at all after a date,” adding that it is “bothersome.” He also pushed the boundaries of variety show humor by referring to his senior Yoo Jae-suk as “Yoo Jae-suk-ssi” and warning him, “If you speak one more time, I’ll scold you.”

While he gained popularity for his bold speaking style, Yang Sang-guk is now facing a backlash for crossing the line. All eyes are on how he will handle the situation and regain public trust. Yang has already begun damage control by leaving an apology on his personal account, stating, “I am sorry for making you uncomfortable.”
