Will Park Sung-woong Betray Lee Seo-hwan? Tension Rises in 'Simu-myeon Yeon-ri-ri'

Park Sung-woong in ‘Simu-myeon Yeon-ri-ri’ has set a project in motion under his own name.

In the 8th episode of the KBS 2TV mini-series ‘Simu-myeon Yeon-ri-ri’ aired on the 14th, excitement peaked as Sung Tae-hoon (Park Sung-woong) teamed up with Director Bae (Bae Ki-bum) of ‘Mat Story’ to provide free fertilizer to the residents of Yeon-ri-ri.

Meanwhile, the eldest son of the Sung family, Sung Ji-cheon (Lee Jin-woo), decided to drop out of medical school despite his mother Jo Mi-ryeo’s (Lee Soo-kyung) attempts to stop him.

Jo Mi-ryeo, who had previously collapsed from shock, let out her long-suppressed emotions, crying, “Do you know what I gave up to send you to med school? I folded my entire life.”

After clashing with her husband Sung Tae-hoon over their children’s education, she eventually packed her bags and left home in a rage.

In the chaos following Jo Mi-ryeo’s departure, Sung Tae-hoon eventually accepted Director Bae’s proposal. He was swayed by the promise that this could save Yeon-ri-ri and bring happiness to his family.

By partnering with Director Bae, Sung Tae-hoon received fertilizer support with his own name listed as the person in charge.

Upon learning this, Im Ju-hyeong (Lee Seo-hwan) expressed suspicion regarding ‘Mat Story’s’ intentions, evoking sadness as he vowed not to repeat the pains of the past.

On a brighter note, Sung Ji-cheon and Im Bo-mi (Choi Gyu-ri) cleared up their misunderstandings and restored their relationship.

Im Bo-mi, who had been upset that Sung Ji-cheon left for Seoul without a word, discovered it was all a misunderstanding caused by a texting error. Sung Ji-cheon then approached her with a more playful attitude, sparking some romantic tension.

Meanwhile, Jo Mi-ryeo, who had been staying at a sauna after leaving home, happened to run into Nam Hye-seon (Nam Kwon-ah) and Lee Seon-ja (Lee Sun-hee).

With nowhere else to go, Jo Mi-ryeo ended up staying at Nam Hye-seon’s house, where Nam Hye-seon offered warm comfort, understanding her from one mother’s perspective.

At the same time, Jo Mi-ryeo’s absence had a huge impact on the Sung family’s daily life. While struggling with his three sons, Sung Tae-hoon felt an unexpected warmth thanks to the help of the village residents.

The residents of Yeon-ri-ri, including the ‘Rae Sisters’ elders, shared food and affection with the Sung family, helping them endure Jo Mi-ryeo’s absence one meal at a time.

Toward the end of the episode, Village Chief Im Ju-hyeong provided a twist. Despite his distrust of ‘Mat Story,’ he trusted Sung Tae-hoon and distributed the free fertilizer to the villagers.

However, curiosity peaked with Sung Tae-hoon’s anxious narration: “I hoped I wouldn’t be betrayed by the cabbage I trusted. Trust is always like that. When you hold it in your hand, you can’t tell if it’s poison or medicine.”

‘Simu-myeon Yeon-ri-ri’ is a chaotic family reboot healing drama about the city-dwelling Sung Tae-hoon family, who suddenly land in the ‘pure yet savage’ area of Yeon-ri-ri and struggle to return to Seoul. It airs every Thursday at 9:50 PM.

Following the 7th episode aired on the 7th, which interestingly depicted the reaction of Sung Tae-hoon and the villagers after Director Choi’s (Min Sung-wook) visit, all eyes are on what happens next.
