SBS’s new Friday-Saturday drama ‘Chief Kim’ has officially confirmed its premiere date for June 26!
Starring an impressive lineup including So Ji-sub, Choi Dae-hoon, Yoon Kyung-ho, Joo Sang-wook, Son Na-eun, and Kim Sung-kyu, ‘Chief Kim’ is a universe-spanning revenge action drama. It tells the story of the “most ordinary” dad who transforms into the “most dangerous” man to rescue his only daughter. The series is an adaptation of the Naver webtoon of the same name, which captured hearts and held the #1 spot among Tuesday webtoons for about four years, garnering significant attention even before the drama production began.

The script is penned by writer Nam Dae-joong, known for ‘Great Wish,’ ’30 Days,’ and ‘First Ride.’ Joining forces are directors Lee Seung-young and Lee So-eun, who previously showcased their skills in ‘Wonderful World,’ ‘Tracer,’ and ‘Voice 2.’ The cast reportedly showed incredible teamwork during their first script reading, promising a drama full of twists, impact, and great chemistry. Director Lee Seung-young boosted the mood by stating, “I will do my best so that we can say it was a joyful and truly amazing experience when filming ends.”
So Ji-sub takes on the role of Chief Kim, an employee at a small savings bank. However, Chief Kim is actually a former North and South Korean covert agent, and So Ji-sub will deliver a performance that blends fatherly love with intense charisma. His flashy action and detailed acting have already heightened the excitement on set.

Choi Dae-hoon plays Seong Han-soo, a Taekwondo gold medalist, delivering a performance that swings between comedy and seriousness. Meanwhile, Yoon Kyung-ho plays Park Jin-cheol, once known as the “God of War” but now a proud father, bringing a realistic touch to the role. These two actors are expected to add vitality to the story and keep viewers hooked.
Joo Sang-wook appears as Joo Kang-chan, a man who solves everything with money and violence, radiating a powerful presence. He will create intense tension as the antagonist to So Ji-sub’s Chief Kim. Son Na-eun plays Sang-ah, a colleague of Chief Kim, bringing her bubbly charm to the screen. Finally, Kim Sung-kyu perfectly embodies the role of a North Korean agent, showcasing an extraordinary presence.

The production team shared, “‘Chief Kim’ has finally confirmed its premiere for June 26. Please show lots of love and interest in ‘Chief Kim,’ featuring a wonderful cast of actors like So Ji-sub, Choi Dae-hoon, Yoon Kyung-ho, Joo Sang-wook, Son Na-eun, and Kim Sung-kyu, who are all packed with brilliant acting skills and unique personalities.”
SBS’s new Friday-Saturday drama ‘Chief Kim’ will air on June 26, following the currently airing ‘Brave New World.’
