Director Yoo In-sik of ‘Wonderfulls’ spoke about Jung Bo-suk.
During an interview for the Netflix original series ‘Wonderfulls’ (written by Heo Da-jung, directed by Yoo In-sik) held on the afternoon of the 15th at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, Director Yoo In-sik mentioned Jung Bo-suk’s special appearance.
In this work, Jung Bo-suk plays a character related to the main villain, Dr. Ha Won-do (played by Son Hyun-joo), and holds a key role in the latter part of the narrative. This special appearance came about through the director’s previous connection with Jung Bo-suk from the drama ‘Giant’.
Director Yoo In-sik shared his thoughts on Jung Bo-suk’s special appearance, saying, “The image I have of senior Jung Bo-suk is from ‘Giant,’ where he started with heavy old-age makeup. Even though the special effects makeup was very difficult, he approached it with the mindset of ‘When else would I get to do this?’ He really loves trying things he’s never done before.”
He continued, “I wanted to bring back senior Jung Bo-suk’s prime days,” adding, “I asked him this time as well, and he readily agreed.”
Director Yoo In-sik expressed his gratitude, noting, “The filming must have been hard. Lying there in special effects makeup probably felt painful, but he was always cheerful.”
‘Wonderfulls’ is a supernatural comic adventure set at the end of the century in 1999, where local misfits who accidentally gain superpowers struggle to save the world against villains threatening peace.
