Actors Yoo Hae-jin and Im Si-wan are teaming up for the occult film ‘Modub’ (directed by Park Jong-hyun and produced by Four Entertainment).
Recently, Yoo Hae-jin and Im Si-wan chose the movie ‘Modub’ as their next project and have begun preparing for filming. Yoo Hae-jin’s agency, VAST Entertainment, and Im Si-wan’s agency, THEBLACKLABEL, told Sports Chosun that “Yoo Hae-jin and Im Si-wan have received offers for ‘Modub’ and are positively reviewing them.”
‘Modub’ is an occult film centered around knots. The project is drawing significant attention from the film industry as Showbox, the investor and distributor of ‘Exhuma’ (directed by Jang Jae-hyun), which became the highest-grossing occult film with 11.91 million viewers upon its 2024 release, is co-planning and developing it. Additionally, director Kang Yun-sung, known for the 2017 film ‘The Outlaws’ as well as the Disney+ series ‘Casino’ and ‘Pine’, is also participating in the production.
Above all, ‘Modub’ is garnering huge anticipation as the next project for Yoo Hae-jin, who heated up the theaters in the first half of this year with ‘The Man Living with the King’ (directed by Jang Hang-jun), which recorded 16.85 million viewers. Following his role in ‘Exhuma’, which opened a new era for the genre, this will be Yoo Hae-jin’s second occult project, making it a highly anticipated film for audiences.
Meanwhile, Im Si-wan, who has been showcasing his versatility across various genres and characters in the 2023 Coupang Play series ‘Boyhood’ and Netflix’s ‘Squid Game’ Seasons 2 and 3, will make his return to the big screen for the first time in three years since the 2023 film ‘1947 Boston’ (directed by Kang Je-gyu). After moving 16 million viewers to tears with his unique chemistry with ‘King Danjong’ Park Ji-hoon, all eyes are now on the intense ensemble Yoo Hae-jin will create with Im Si-wan.
Meanwhile, ‘Modub’ is scheduled to begin filming at the end of August.
