Yoon Jung-soo opened up about the severe financial hardships he faced after his Cheongdam-dong apartment was auctioned off due to a bad guarantee, eventually leading to bankruptcy.
In the 42nd episode of tvN’s ‘남겨서 뭐하게’ aired on the 11th, Yoon Jung-soo appeared as a guest and caught up with Lee Young-ja and Park Se-ri over a meal.
During the show, he looked back on the time his apartment in Cheongdam-dong was auctioned off because of a disastrous guarantee.
“The apartment went to auction because of a guarantee bomb,” Yoon Jung-soo recalled. “But it’s not just the loss of the house that’s hard. It’s because the one or two years leading up to that point were already a complete mess.”

When Lee Young-ja asked where he moved, he replied, “I found a small house in Ichon-dong. Since I support my mother, my family helped me put together the deposit.”
He then shared the struggles that followed his bankruptcy filing.
“When you file for bankruptcy, you can’t hold onto money, which makes social life very difficult,” he explained. “The period from the auction to bankruptcy was the hardest. Since all assets are seized, you have to rely on the help of others.”
He even had to rely on an acquaintance for a vehicle.
Yoon Jung-soo surprised everyone by revealing, “A junior colleague actually got me a car, and that’s what I used to get around.”

When Lee Young-ja asked about his appearance fees from broadcasting, he confessed, “My appearance fees were seized as soon as they were paid. I barely survived by borrowing money for living expenses for my mother.”
He further described the dire situation: “The electricity was cut off, so I lit candles. I would charge my phone as much as possible outside, then come home and use the phone’s light to get dressed.”
“I would wait for the sun to rise and start the housework I’d put off from 5 AM. I couldn’t do it at night because it was too dark,” he added, admitting that he eventually got used to the routine, which left the viewers feeling heartbroken.
