Actor Yoon Shi Yoon opened up about the unexpected reason he has been hesitating to get married. After sharing a unique episode involving his mother, viewers had mixed reactions, with some calling him a “devoted son” while others felt the situation seemed “a bit burdensome.”
In the KBS2 variety show ‘Stars’ Top Recipe at Fun-staurant’ aired on the 15th, Kim Jae Joong invited his close same-age friends Choi Jin Hyuk, Yoon Shi Yoon, and Yoo Seon Ho to his home for an honest chat.
The conversation naturally shifted toward marriage. When Kim Jae Joong mentioned that his parents often bring up the topic, Choi Jin Hyuk laughed, saying, “My mom doesn’t talk about marriage, but she nags about everything else.” He confessed, “Living with my mom makes dating itself difficult. It’s almost like living in a bunker.”
Choi Jin Hyuk shared a funny yet shocking detail, revealing, “When I’m on the phone, my mother listens to everything. The next day, she’ll repeat the things I said to my friends while talking to someone else,” leaving the set in laughter. He added, “I don’t think my mother likes it when I date. I sometimes feel like she actually wants me to stay unmarried.”
Yoon Shi Yoon deeply empathized with this. He shared his own “laugh-cry” reality, saying, “My mom tells me to get married, but I don’t think that’s how she truly feels.” He then surprised everyone with a story from a past date.
Yoon Shi Yoon recalled, “I was in my mom’s car and asked her to drop me off at the station to meet my girlfriend.” He revealed, “But she just drove right past. When I asked her again to let me out, she suddenly shouted ‘I don’t know!’ and started crying while holding the steering wheel,” leaving everyone in shock.
Hearing this, Kim Jae Joong jokingly asked, “So, in the end, you can’t get married because of your mother?” to which Yoon Shi Yoon laughed and replied, “Actually, yes. My mom’s influence is huge.” Choi Jin Hyuk agreed, saying, “I’m similar.”
