Rookie multinational boy group YUHZ officially debuted on May 7 with their single album “Orange Record.” Member Kai, who is of Japanese and Mexican descent, shared his bold ambition to introduce Mexican culture to fans worldwide through his future activities.
Formed through SBS’s massive global audition program “B:MY BOYZ,” YUHZ (short for “Your Hertz”) consists of eight members: Hyo, Bohyun, Haruto, Junseong, Jaeil, Kai, Yantai, and Sechan.
Their debut single “Orange Record” marks the beginning of their journey, focusing on themes of youth, curiosity, and new beginnings. The color orange was specifically used to symbolize the energy of the group taking their first steps as artists.
Along with the group’s debut, Kai shared his honest thoughts on how his background growing up as a Japanese-Mexican will influence YUHZ’s activities and how he hopes to share the inspiration from his roots with fans and fellow members.

Kai stated, “While promoting with this team, I think I’ll be able to naturally show the various aspects of Mexican culture that I learned from my father to the fans and members.”
Kai mentioned that before the COVID-19 pandemic, he frequently traveled between Mexico and Japan, maintaining a close bond with Mexican culture through his family and experiences. While it may be harder to visit as often after debuting, he added his wish to express the culture he grew up with through future overseas activities.
“I want to express the culture I learned while growing up not just through words, but through performances as well,” Kai said, recalling warm memories of Mexico. He concluded by saying, “I especially hope my family can see me active overseas as an idol.”
YUHZ’s debut track “Rush Rush” is a pop song featuring a refreshing melody and a sound that explodes as the song progresses. Through vocals and performances filled with honest and bold energy, the group expresses their determination to move forward without hesitation.
YUHZ successfully completed their first week of promotions, appearing on KBS 2TV “Music Bank,” MBC “Show! Music Core,” and SBS “Inkigayo.” They plan to continue meeting fans through various music shows and content, and will hold their first fan meeting, “Our Greeting,” in Japan on the 16th.
YUHZ’s debut single album “Orange Record” is available on various streaming platforms.
