10 Million Won Soybean Paste?! 'Culinary Class Wars' Chef David Lee Shocked by the Price on 'The Boss's Ears are Donkey's Ears'

A soybean paste worth a whopping 10 million won will be revealed on ‘The Boss’s Ears are Donkey’s Ears’!

In the episode of KBS 2TV’s ‘The Boss’s Ears are Donkey’s Ears’ airing May 3 at 4:40 PM, David Lee takes on the challenge of making traditional paste, living up to his reputation as a star chef.

David Lee was completely captivated by the taste of a vintage soybean paste made back in 2011, exclaiming, “The taste is completely different from commercial soybean paste!” However, he was left stunned when he found out that a single jar of the 2011 vintage costs 10 million won.

As the chefs demonstrated the process of making traditional paste, David Lee joked, “The paste we made ourselves will be ready in three years,” adding, “I told my employees they have to work here for three years to be able to taste it,” which sparked laughter.

Meanwhile, David Lee is a former owner-chef of a Michelin 2-star restaurant in New York. He gained widespread fame through his appearance in the 2024 Netflix original ‘Culinary Class Wars’ under the nickname ‘Meat Gangster’.
