A popping beat has arrived to wake up your boring late spring routine!
Artists YOUS, LEI, and LuVan have been chosen for the first theme kit album, “KiTake,” for May by KiTbetter. KiTbetter officially announced the first May KiTake selection on the 11th.
KiTake is a series of theme-based kit albums uploaded to KiTbetter’s official X account. These are selected by KiTbetter, a service that produces and releases kit albums, which are physical albums designed for smart devices. By selecting from domestic and international kit albums created through KiTbetter’s accessible and fast production service, the project aims to spotlight artists, introduce them to listeners through various linked content, and support their musical journeys.
The first theme for May is “Boring Daily Life, Jellybean Beat Drop.” To add some excitement to those drowsy days, tracks with vibrant colors and popping rhythms were handpicked.
The first selected kit album is YOUS’s single “Pongdang!”. The title track “Pongdang! (Feat. Ja Mezz)” uses a playful and upbeat pop sound to describe the confusing yet fluttering feeling of falling head over heels for someone. With synthesizers that fill the space and unique water-drop sound effects, the track offers a multi-dimensional experience, characterized by a fast-paced beat and the use of vocal chops. Rapper Ja Mezz joins in as a featured artist, adding a weighted rap that perfectly balances the popping atmosphere.
The second selection is LEI’s single “Say YES!”. The title track “Say YES!” is a bright and overwhelming song that feels like the opening of a high-teen animation. Rhythmical electric guitar riffs and a dynamic band sound reminiscent of live drums provide a strong foundation for the track. The English lyrics capture the fresh moment of confessing love and waiting for a positive answer, while retro yet refreshing synth lines blend with LEI’s vocal energy for an explosive synergy.
Finally, rapper LuVan’s EP “BOY FROM THE OCEAN” was selected. This concept album follows the emotional changes of a boy living in the deep sea as he rises to the surface. The track “RACHA!” is a groovy piece borrowing Afrobeat and dancehall rhythms, featuring a harmony of tropical percussion and a heavy bassline. LuVan’s melodic rapping, which feels like swimming smoothly through the water, combines with waving synth sounds to create a sense of deep-sea freshness and sophisticated depth.
