2PM Captivates Japan with Epic Tokyo Dome Comeback!

2PM (Jun. K, Nichkhun, Taecyeon, Wooyoung, Junho, and Chansung) have completely captivated Japan!

On May 9 and 10, the group held their “2PM Japan 15th Anniversary Concert ‘THE RETURN’ in TOKYO DOME.” This long-awaited return to the Tokyo Dome after 10 years drew a massive crowd of 85,000 fans over the two days. Having officially debuted in 2008 and made their Japanese debut in 2011, the group first entered the Tokyo Dome in 2013 and returned in 2016. With this latest show, they have finally fulfilled their promise to return after a decade.

Jun. K, Nichkhun, Taecyeon, Wooyoung, Junho, and Chansung greeted the huge crowd with a rich setlist of domestic and international hits, as well as Japanese releases, with each performance lasting over three hours. A total of 25 songs echoed through the Tokyo Dome, including their Japanese debut single “Take off” (May 2011), “I’m your man” (August 2011), which left an indelible mark on the K-pop male idol scene in Japan, “Ultra Lover” (November 2011), and “Guilty Love” (January 2015), which topped the Oricon daily and weekly charts. Showcasing their distinct vocal colors, 2PM shared, “This Tokyo Dome performance features a setlist that condenses ‘everything of 2PM.’ We considered adding more ballads, but we wanted to properly show you the true essence of 2PM, so we went with these intense performances. Our shirts are completely soaked under our jackets, so please give us a cheer as loud as the sweat we’ve shed!”

When the members greeted the crowd in Japanese, saying, “We’re back! We are 2PM,” the audience roared back, “Welcome back!” The addictive melodies of their original Japanese songs, combined with romantic messages about protecting destiny together regardless of hardships, sent the atmosphere soaring. The show featured the iconic “human tower” choreography from “Heartbeat” and the “sangmo spinning” point dance from the Japanese version of “My House.” The crowd erupted in overwhelming cheers when all six members ripped their shirts during “I’m your man,” proving that the passion of Hottest (the fandom name) remains as hot as 2PM’s skills. The concert also featured dynamic stage movements, impressive screen visuals, a large dance crew, and a highlight where the members soared across the Tokyo Dome in balloon-like devices.

2PM expressed their heartfelt gratitude, saying, “It’s like a miracle to meet again at the dream stage of Tokyo Dome. This is a day I’ll never forget. We will definitely return again,” and “Hottest are the stars shining in 2PM’s night sky. Being here with you makes me feel like the happiest person. You are our emotion, our treasure, and our pride. Thank you for protecting us for so long.” Fans shared their excitement as well, collectively stating, “2PM is our strength.” Fan Watanabe Naoko shed tears of emotion, saying, “2PM is the ‘strength to live’ every day. Their charm multiplies when the six of them are together.” Another fan, Rie, who attended with her mother, said, “The first time I saw 2PM was at their first Tokyo Dome show in 2013. To see them come back like this… they really are 2PM. Half of my life has been spent as a Hottest, so they are the ‘youth’ I cannot live without.”

As a steadfast pillar of the JYP Entertainment male idol lineage, 2PM’s successful Tokyo Dome concert confirmed their enduring presence and the powerful bond between the artists and fans that transcends generations. For the final encore song of both days, they dramatically performed “I’ll Be Back -Japanese ver.-,” signaling that the promise between 2PM and Hottest will continue.

Meanwhile, 2PM announced they will hold a full-group solo concert in Korea, “2026 2PM Concert ‘THE RETURN’ in INCHEON,” at the Inspire Arena in Incheon on August 8 and 9. This marks their first full-group concert in about three years since the 15th-anniversary show “It’s 2PM” in September 2023.
