Macaulay Culkin, the star of the movie Home Alone, shared his longing for the late actress Catherine O’Hara, who played his mother in the film.
According to the British media outlet Daily Mail on the 12th (local time), Culkin opened up about his feelings regarding Catherine O’Hara, who suddenly passed away on January 30, during an interview with Gentleman’s Journal.
Recalling Catherine O’Hara in the interview, Culkin said, “I was truly shocked when she passed away last January. It was a farewell that came far too soon.”
He added, “There was a kindness I absolutely had to repay, and I feel like I haven’t settled that debt yet. It’s very difficult to still have this emotional burden.”
Their last official appearance together was at Macaulay Culkin’s Hollywood Walk of Fame induction ceremony in December 2023.
Catherine O’Hara passed away this January at the age of 71 due to a pulmonary embolism, with rectal cancer as the underlying cause. Culkin previously paid tribute to her on social media, writing, “Mom, I thought we would have more time.”
Meanwhile, Catherine O’Hara starred as Patty Lee in her final work, The Studio. She concluded her acting career by posthumously winning the Best Actress in a Comedy category at the 2026 Actor Awards for this role.
