‘God Bless the Assemblyman’ is a soul alliance project where Gu Young-jin (played by Kim Yun-seok), a ‘political pro’ assemblyman who returns to the past as a ghost, and Cha Jae-rim (played by Kim Seon-ho), a ‘political novice’ 9th-grade civil servant, help each other carve out their destinies. The series is based on a popular web novel of the same name.
According to the production team, Kim Yun-seok will deliver a powerful performance as Gu Young-jin, a political master who returns as a ghost to seek revenge. As a six-term assemblyman, he is a man who believes politics is about calculation rather than common sense, and design rather than conviction. Once the architect of the political scene and at the center of power, Gu Young-jin meets his end after becoming embroiled in a corruption scandal. After returning to the past as a ghost, he joins forces with Cha Jae-rim to reset his life and race back toward the heart of politics. Kim Yun-seok shared, “I am thrilled to be working with such wonderful actors and staff. I am happy to have found a great project, and I will give it my all to leave an unforgettable impression on the viewers.”
Kim Seon-ho transforms into Cha Jae-rim, a 9th-grade civil servant and ‘political novice’ who gets lured into the world of politics by the ghost politician Gu Young-jin. Cha Jae-rim is a young man who simply wants to live an ordinary life, getting by day by day without any particular greed. However, his life takes an unexpected turn when the ghost politician Gu Young-jin appears.

‘God Bless the Assemblyman’ is scheduled to air on tvN. While the specific broadcast date is yet to be determined, production is underway with a goal to air in the first half of 2027.
