The third forest for global group BTS is here! On May 15, the “BTS 3rd Forest” will be established at Ttukseom Hangang Park in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. This project is part of the eco-friendly “Forest;Trimming” initiative by Kakao Entertainment’s music platform Melon, and it is set to be the largest one yet.
Since June 2022, “Forest;Trimming” has allowed Melon subscribers to create forests named after their favorite artists. By selecting an artist, up to 2% of their monthly payment is accumulated. Once 20 million won is gathered for an artist, Melon adds another 5 million won, donating a total of 25 million won to the Seoul Environmental Federation to create a forest in that artist’s name within Seoul.
So far, forests for Young Tak (1st), Lim Young-woong (3rd), and TOMORROW X TOGETHER (3rd) have been unveiled. With the addition of the “BTS 3rd Forest,” a total of 20 forests will now exist.

Unlike other forests, the “BTS 3rd Forest” is being built with a massive total of 125 million won, combining 100 million won from fan donations over five rounds and 25 million won from Melon. The site will feature a total of 1,612 plants, including mountain cherry trees (12), bridal wreath spirea (100), lilacs (150), honeysuckle (80), Nandina (150), panicle hydrangea (150), wingnut trees (70), privet (150), three-color spirea (120), iris (120), hosta (90), silver grass (30), morning light (20), green light (20), evergreen sedge (20), fescue (20), and liriope (310).
Fans can participate in “Forest;Trimming” by clicking the menu in the shortcut tab of the Melon app. Kakao Entertainment plans to continue fostering a culture where music and the environment coexist while supporting artists across various genres.
