The Wind (Kim Heesoo, Thanatorn, Choi Hanbin, Park Hayuchan, An Chanwon, Jang HyunJoon) made their debut on May 15, 2023, with their first mini-album, ‘Beginning : The Wind Page.’ They’ve captured the hearts of K-pop fans with their refreshing ‘Youth_Teen’ concept. The B-side track ‘Reunion’ from their first mini-album was even designated as an ending song in coin karaoke rooms!
Their second single, ‘Only One Story,’ released in March last year, broke their own record for album sales. Every track from that album soared onto the Thai iTunes Top Songs chart, showcasing their global popularity! What’s more, the title track from their third mini-album, ‘Hello, My First Love,’ earned them their very first number one trophy since debut.
Recently, The Wind announced an exciting new leap forward under a collaborative system with Pangstar Entertainment. Pangstar Entertainment was founded by CEO Bang Jaehyuk, who was part of the success story of ATEEZ. The company has previously stated its intention to build a differentiated direction by recruiting members with long-standing experience in the entertainment industry.
Pangstar Entertainment plans to foster the artists’ growth through this collaboration, opening a new chapter for The Wind. The group intends to expand their activities into the global market and continue their evolution with diverse projects and fresh concepts.
As they hit their 3rd debut anniversary, the members also shared reflections on their past three years and their future goals. They picked moments spent with fans on stage as their most memorable. They also revealed that they are working hard to strengthen their individual charms while maintaining the group’s unique color, and to solidify their teamwork.
Looking ahead, they expressed their desire to be remembered as a group that brings joy and happiness, and excels on stage. To their fans, they conveyed gratitude for celebrating their 3rd anniversary with them, promising to show even better sides of themselves.
Q. How do you feel about celebrating your 3rd debut anniversary?
A. (Choi Hanbin) Time flew by so fast, enjoying and having fun activities with Whiz, and now our 3rd anniversary is here! I’m incredibly happy and amazed.
A. (An Chanwon) It’s amazing that it’s already been three years with Whiz. I’m always grateful that Whiz has stayed by our side, and I want to repay them for all the love we’ve received.
A. (Jang HyunJoon) It doesn’t feel real that it’s already been three years since our debut, and I think we were able to come this far thanks to Whiz’s enthusiastic support. I’m always thankful for and love Whiz and our members.
Q. What’s the most memorable moment from your activities over the past three years?
A. (Kim Heesoo) It’s a relatively recent event. I never thought I’d get to go on a ‘Comfort Train’ in my life, but it was a truly happy and amazing experience to go and cheer for them through such a great opportunity.
A. (Thanatorn) Every moment I performed while looking at Whiz remains memorable.
A. (Park Hayuchan) The ‘Hello, My First Love’ showcase stage is the most memorable.
Q. You’ve recently started a new chapter with a new collaboration. What efforts are you making to showcase The Wind’s unique color?
A. (Thanatorn) We’re practicing a lot to go beyond our established comfort zones and to control our power.
A. (An Chanwon) We’re building up our stamina for amazing stages and practicing a lot on our expressions and expressiveness.
A. (Jang HyunJoon) We’re putting in a lot of effort to show many different sides of ourselves while still maintaining The Wind’s unique refreshing charm.
Q. Is there anything you definitely want to do with the members to celebrate your 3rd debut anniversary?
A. (Kim Heesoo) Besides overseas schedules for work, I want to go on an international trip with just the members. I want us to decide on all the things we want to do and eat, and then travel.
A. (Choi Hanbin) I want to make a comeback quickly. I want to show Whiz a more grown-up version of The Wind soon.
A. (Park Hayuchan) I want all the members to go on a trip to Jeju Island together.
Q. How do you hope The Wind will be remembered as a group in the future?
A. (Thanatorn) I hope we’re remembered as a lovable group that leaves an impression on everyone with our music and can perfectly pull off any genre.
A. (Park Hayuchan) I want us to become a group that excels on stage.
A. (An Chanwon) I want us to become a group that can be a cherished memory for many people and bring happiness to Whiz.
