Singer WOODZ has achieved an incredible first-time record thanks to the long-term success of his self-composed track ‘Drowning’.
‘Drowning’ recently entered the top 10 of the Melon TOP100 chart for 70 consecutive weeks, setting the all-time record for the longest stay in the TOP 10. This surpasses the records of NewJeans’ ‘Hype Boy’ (49 weeks) and BTS’ ‘Dynamite’ (36 weeks), proving the song’s steady love from listeners.
In particular, ‘Drowning’ has maintained its position at the top of major music charts since its viral climb began in October 2024. Thanks to this popularity, it took the #1 spot on the 2025 annual charts released by Melon, Genie, and Circle Chart, and even secured two wins on SBS ‘Inkigayo’.

It’s not just the music; the video content is also receiving constant love. As of the 14th, the ‘WOODZ ‘Drowning’ Live Clip’ released in 2023 is ranked 3rd on the YouTube Korea Popular Music Video TOP100 chart. It has also stayed on the Korea Weekly Popular Music Video chart for 81 consecutive weeks, continuing its record-breaking run. Additionally, the performance video of ‘Drowning’ from the KBS2 ‘Immortal Songs’ Armed Forces Day special, where he performed in military uniform, surpassed 30 million views late last month.
‘Drowning’ is a track from WOODZ’s 5th mini album ‘OO-LI’, released in April 2023. Written and composed by WOODZ himself, the song delicately yet intensely captures the emotions of letting go of a loved one. Even before its viral success, it was praised by listeners as a hidden masterpiece.

Meanwhile, WOODZ continues his active musical journey, having released his first full-length album ‘Archive. 1’ this past March.
