Will Park Sung-woong's Alliance with Lee Seo-hwan be a Blessing or a Curse for Yeonri-ri? (Simu-myeon Yeonri-ri)
KBS 2TV ‘심우면 연리리’

“Simu-myeon Yeonri-ri” is gearing up for even bigger waves as the hidden truths surrounding “Mat Story” and Yeonri-ri village begin to surface.

The KBS 2TV mini-series “Simu-myeon Yeonri-ri” (Directed by Choi Yeon-soo / Written by Song Jeong-rim and Wang Hye-ji / Produced by Sim Story) follows the story of Seong Tae-hoon’s (Park Sung-woong) family as they return to farming, weaving an intriguing plot centered on the past conflicts between the food conglomerate “Mat Story” and the rural village of “Yeonri-ri.”

After being demoted and sent to Yeonri-ri, “Mat Story” manager Seong Tae-hoon finds himself entangled with Village Head Im Ju-hyeong (Lee Seo-hwan). However, Im Ju-hyeong remains wary of him simply because of his affiliation with “Mat Story.” Because many villagers carry deep scars from the company, Im Ju-hyeong keeps Seong Tae-hoon in check at every turn, creating a palpable tension.

On the other hand, the more time Seong Tae-hoon spends with the residents, the more suspicious he becomes of his own company. He notices the suspicious behavior of his boss, Director Choi (Min Sung-wook), who seems to be intentionally sabotaging the cabbage harvest. Adding to the shock, it’s revealed that Noh Hyeon-gap (Jung Sun-chul), who always lingers around as a field manager, was actually a former employee of the Yeonri-ri branch. Director Choi’s pressure on him, asking, “Manager Noh, have you forgotten the past just because ten-plus years have passed?” hints at a buried secret, sparking the curiosity of viewers.

Meanwhile, Noh Hyeon-gap, a mysterious figure who is both a helper and a suspect, catches attention by telling Seong Tae-hoon, “Sign the documents sent from the company. Losing your way happens in an instant,” despite no longer being an employee of “Mat Story.” His ambiguous actions only deepen the mystery. Adding to the unease, Director Choi visits Yeonri-ri and tells Seong Tae-hoon, “A new picture will be drawn in Yeonri-ri,” before hastily leaving while covering his face, leaving behind even more questions.

As his suspicions grow, Seong Tae-hoon accepts a project proposal from Executive Director Bae (Bae Ki-beom), which promises a promotion and a return to the headquarters. While he made this choice for his family’s happiness, there seems to be a hidden agenda. He then provides free fertilizer to the residents under his own name. Although the villagers still distrust “Mat Story,” they respond out of trust for Seong Tae-hoon. With the residents, who carry scars from the past, connecting with “Mat Story” once again, all eyes are on whether Seong Tae-hoon’s decision will trigger a storm. Episode 9 airs on the 21st at 9:50 PM.
