A 300 Million Won Apartment in Seoul?! Check Out the Fully Renovated Gems on 'Help Me! Holmes'

MBC’s ‘Help Me! Holmes’ recently aired a special titled “Seoul 300 Million Won Apartments.” According to Nielsen Korea, the episode hit a nationwide rating of 2.6% and a 1.5% rating for the 2054 demographic in the Seoul metropolitan area, ranking first in its time slot for both categories!

This episode featured “Reckless Field Trip Part 2,” where the cast searched for apartments in Seoul priced in the 300 million won range. Im Woo-il, who originally suggested the “Reckless Field Trip” idea, teamed up with Ahn Jae-hyun, who has been shining lately on the show.

Their first stop was Hapjeong Station, the heart of Mapo-gu’s commercial district and part of Seoul’s “Han River Belt” connecting Hongdae, Sangsu, and Mangwon. They visited a mixed-use apartment built in 1971, and the cast was shocked by its prime location. A famous “Imokase” restaurant in the building’s shopping area caught attention as the filming site for the first episode of Shortbox’s “Long-term Relationship” YouTube series. The apartment’s interior was equally striking, featuring unique stairs and a bold layout without room doors. This 41㎡ unit was listed for 300 million won.

The second stop was an apartment in Mi-geun-dong, Seodaemun-gu, located right next to the National Police Agency. Everyone was amazed to learn that surrounding apartments are valued at around 2 billion won. Built in 1971, this mixed-use complex of nine buildings stands out as the only old structure among towering skyscrapers. Built over a stream, its unique curved shape was even used as a backdrop for the tvN drama ‘My Mister’. The unit featured two rooms and one bathroom with a sentimental railway view, priced at 290 million won.

To find a property built in the 2000s, the duo headed to Bulgwang-dong, Eunpyeong-gu. Since Yeonshinnae is his hometown, Ahn Jae-hyun even called a local friend to get the inside scoop on Bulgwang-dong real estate. They found a fully renovated apartment built in 2000, part of a two-building complex with 198 units, located right next to the Bukhansan hiking trail. The clean, remodeled interior featured an expanded layout by removing the door between the kitchen and the room. This unit was listed for 370 million won.

The final stop was an apartment in Majang-dong, Seongdong-gu, built in 1986. Part of a large complex currently pursuing reconstruction, the home stood out for its self-interior design, filled with plants and props curated by the owner, who is a landscape architect. However, there was a twist! While they were looking for 300 million won apartments, this home had a jeonse price of 240 million won, but its recent actual transaction price had soared past 1 billion won.

At the end of the episode, a teaser for the next “Reckless Field Trip” showed Im Woo-il visiting a real estate office to hunt for “urgent sales.”
