POW leader Yochi has finally completed his first domestic solo single, “Blow Your Mind,” after pouring in three years of hard work!
On the 19th, Yochi shared the journey of creating his solo single through a behind-the-scenes video of the “Blow Your Mind” music video on his official SNS and YouTube channels. He further hyped up global fans by releasing a music video teaser on the 20th.
In the video, Yochi appeared full of excitement, saying, “I’m here to film my solo music video today.” He admitted, “It’s so lonely filming alone. I’m used to joking around with the members, so I’m a bit scared and nervous today,” but he remained a total pro throughout the shoot.
He also shared an interesting backstory about the track. Yochi recalled, “I happened to hear this song while talking with the CEO during ‘Valentine’ promotions. I wanted to do it the moment I first heard it.” He added, “At the time, the song didn’t have a designated artist, and although I didn’t know if the opportunity would come to me, I knew I really wanted to try.”
The process wasn’t easy. “At first, I was just following Lucky Daye’s guide vocals, so my own style wasn’t in it at all. I wasn’t satisfied even after recording repeatedly, but I didn’t want to give up,” Yochi explained. He continued, “I modified the song to fit me and kept practicing. With help from King Henry and Sasha Alex Sloan, I spent nearly three years preparing every detail.”
The biggest shock came toward the end of the process when Yochi realized the producer was none other than the world-renowned DJ and producer Diplo! “The CEO said he would send the song to Diplo and Lucky Daye, and that’s when I first found out it was a Diplo song. I was absolutely shocked,” he revealed. He added emotionally, “I waited nervously, and a positive response came back immediately. With featuring ideas added, the song was completed. I’m so happy that my three years of hard work and practice have finally paid off.”
This single features rapper Sik-K and Bryan Chase. Yochi expressed his satisfaction, saying, “It’s much more colorful and rich than when I sang it alone. The different tones and rhythms made the song so much better.”
The bond between POW members also shone through. The members made a surprise visit to the music video set, cheering on their eldest brother and leader, Yochi, and bringing energy to the scene. Yochi shared his gratitude, saying, “I was running out of energy, but as soon as the members came and told me ‘Fighting!’, I felt energized again.”
Finally, Yochi showed his confidence, stating, “I am a musician. I want to keep taking on new challenges.” He added, ” ‘Blow Your Mind’ is like the first step of my challenge. Fans will be completely surprised when they hear it.”
The music video teaser released on the 20th is already receiving a hot response from global fans. The dreamy atmosphere is created by Yochi’s smooth vocals paired with the lyrics, “If you want a ride I got one for you.” The song will be officially released on the 22nd.
