“Acting Genius” Oh Jung-se Becomes an “Ear-Candy Boyfriend” in ‘Wild Thing’

Oh Jung-se introduced himself as “Ear-Candy Boyfriend Choi Seong-gon” during the press screening and conference for the movie ‘Wild Thing’ (directed by Son Jae-gon) held on the afternoon of the 18th at Lotte Cinema Jamsil Lotte Tower. The introduction immediately sparked laughter from the press.

With a witty remark, Oh Jung-se said, “You’re already laughing a lot, so I hope the audience watches and laughs along too.”

He explained, “Beyond how he looks on the outside, I approached the role with a heart full of desperation and longing. Since this was a first-time challenge for me, I put all my sincerity into preparing for Seong-gon and fully immersed myself in his emotions.”

He further shared, “To others, he was a character filled with a sincere love for singing, even if it seemed excessive or funny. Perhaps that’s why I couldn’t feel the joy on stage. Instead, the stage felt scarier and more terrifying. Personally, I fought a fierce battle with myself while performing.”

‘Wild Thing’ tells the story of ‘Triangle’, a three-member co-ed dance group that once dominated the music scene, as they attempt to reunite after 20 years.

The group consists of leader Hwang Hyun-woo (Kang Dong-won), now a broadcaster working for a living; Byeon Do-mi (Park Ji-hyun), who married into a chaebol family; and Gu Sang-gu (Um Tae-goo), who is drowning in debt after failing as a soloist. They reunite for one final performance, but their journey takes an unexpected turn when their former rival, ballad singer Seong-gon (Oh Jung-se), and a former agency CEO with a grudge appear.

The movie opens on June 3rd.
