Actress Yoo Hye-ri (62) shed tears while reflecting on her marriage to her ex-husband, Lee Geun-hee.
Yoo Hye-ri appeared on the MBN show ‘Special World’ aired on the 14th.
During the broadcast, she shared that she lives with three rescued cats, saying, “I prefer being with my cats over complicated and noisy environments.” She added, “My mother tells me, ‘Don’t live with cats, go meet a man. Are you going to live with cats for the rest of your life? What are you doing?'”

When asked why she married fellow actor Lee Geun-hee despite her parents’ opposition, Yoo Hye-ri confessed, “I felt pressure regarding my age. At the time, people felt they had to be married by thirty. My father was very strict with me. Since I always had to be monitored, I thought, ‘If I find a good person, I’ll marry them immediately.'”
She noted, “We divorced after a year and a half, or about two years in calendar terms. I think we were both immature and weren’t careful enough.”

Later, Yoo Hye-ri met actress Ahn So-young, known for the movie ‘Madame Aema’, and vented about her mother’s nagging regarding her love life.
Yoo Hye-ri lamented, “My mom looks at me and asks, ‘Is there anyone?’ She wants me to meet someone.” She emphasized, “Getting to know someone and deciding to marry them is something that requires extreme caution.”

Showing her cautious approach to marriage, Yoo Hye-ri revealed her ex-husband’s tyranny: “Stabbing a knife into the dining table, breaking apartment windows, or coming to a wrap party for my recording, drinking, and throwing a chair at random people… that’s not normal, is it?”
She added, “Seeing those things made me realize I had made a mistake. That’s when I knew my father hadn’t opposed the marriage for no reason.”
She burst into tears, feeling sorry for her parents, saying, “I caused my parents a lot of heartache. I should have shown them a better side of me, but I don’t think I was able to show them a happy version of myself.”
Yoo Hye-ri married in 1994 but decided to divorce after a year and a half, and they became legally separated in 1998.
Yoo Hye-ri debuted as a CF model in 1985, worked as a theater actress from 1987, and began her film career in 1988 with the movie ‘Paris Aema’. She has appeared in dramas such as ‘Yesterday’, ‘Miss Mermaid’, ‘Island Village Teacher’, ‘This Damned Love’, ‘You Are My Destiny’, ‘Cinderella Man’, and ‘Yellow Revenge’.
Lee Geun-hee debuted as a theater actor in 1978 and appeared in dramas like ‘Eve’s Everything’, ‘Rival’, ‘Love Story in Harvard’, and ‘You’ve Fallen for Me’. He was well-known as ‘Bung Bung Uncle’ on KBS2’s ‘TV Kindergarten Hana Dul Set’ and appeared on the SBS variety show ‘Burning Youth’.
