ADOR vs. Danielle and Min Hee-jin: First Hearing for 43.1 Billion Won Lawsuit Today!

The first hearing for the 43.1 billion won damages lawsuit filed by ADOR, the agency of NewJeans, against former member Danielle and former ADOR CEO (now OK Records CEO) Min Hee-jin takes place today (14th).

The Seoul Central District Court Civil Division 31 (Presiding Judge Nam In-soo) will proceed with the first hearing this afternoon for the lawsuit ADOR filed against Danielle, her family, and former CEO Min.

ADOR recently appointed Law Firm Lihan as their new legal representative and submitted a request to change the date on the 8th, but the court reportedly rejected this and is moving forward as planned.

During a preparatory hearing back in March, there was a clash over potential trial delays. Danielle’s side argued that ADOR was intentionally slowing down the process by expanding the list of defendants and requesting extensions, urging a speedy trial to avoid a long hiatus from activities.

On the other hand, ADOR maintained that they have no intention of delaying the trial, explaining that the issues are complex and simply require enough time for a thorough review.

According to legal sources, neither former CEO Min nor Danielle are expected to attend today’s hearing in person.

ADOR notified Danielle of her exclusive contract termination last December. The company reportedly believes that Danielle and her family triggered the current dispute. Following this, they filed a lawsuit for damages totaling 43.1 billion won, including penalties, against Danielle and former CEO Min for breach of contract.

Meanwhile, NewJeans members Haerin, Hyein, and Hanni have already returned to ADOR. It is also reported that Minji is currently in positive discussions about rejoining the agency.
