Nepalese actor Gembir’s wife shared some emotional moments that left her in tears.

In the May 21st episode of MBN’s ‘Special World’, Gembir made an appearance.

Fans might recognize him as the local guide from Kian84’s travel show ‘Adventure by Accident 4’. Gembir talked about his acting career in movies like ‘Veteran’, ‘The Himalayas’, and ‘Asura’. He mentioned, “I played a Sherpa, and because of that, I played a Sherpa in ‘The Himalayas’ too. Since I’m Nepalese, I often get cast as the ‘bad guy’ immigrant from Vietnam or the Philippines.”

Gembir also showed off his love for Hongeo (fermented skate) at the restaurant he’s been running for 20 years. He’s even been part of a Hongeo gathering with other business owners for 10 years! He shared, “I even took Hongeo up to 6,000 meters in Nepal. Whenever I’m exhausted, eating this gets me moving again. Since there’s no water parsley in Nepal, I use cilantro instead. It gives me incredible energy!”

Having come to Korea as a student at 23, Gembir spent 10 years as a broadcast reporter. Recalling his first encounter with Hongeo, he confessed, “When I went to Mokpo as a KBS reporter, I asked the PD why he was giving me something rotten. I thought I was being pranked! But when he served it as Samhap, I couldn’t stop thinking about it.” During the shoot, his wife called, and Gembir jokingly defended himself, saying, “My wife always thinks I’m just playing around. See? I’m getting advice right now!”

Gembir loves meeting people and staying active in various associations, believing that connecting with others allows for mutual support. After closing his shop, he met with his acting teacher to continue practicing. Gembir, who debuted as a foreign worker in the movie ‘Bangga? Bangga!’, has become a go-to actor for various foreign roles.

However, things got emotional when Gembir returned home late at night. His wife was upset, explaining that their son had been waiting to give him carnations for Parents’ Day. She expressed her frustration, saying, “I’m fine, but please be better to our son. He’s been asking about the hospital visits for years.” When Gembir explained he was busy making a living, his wife retorted, “Then am I raising the child alone? Please play with him, even if it’s just for a bit on the weekends.”

His wife then opened up about their difficult journey to parenthood. “We tried so hard to have a child, but we suffered several miscarriages,” she revealed. “We eventually had our son through IVF, and he was born via emergency delivery at only 6 months.” She shared that she has undergone three bowel surgeries and still requires regular hospital visits. Thinking of their son’s love for his father, she tearfully added, “I’m okay, but I just wish our son could spend more time with his dad.”
