Actor Ahn Hyo-seop opened up about a dizzying experience where he fainted during filming in the past and revealed that he even considered retiring from acting.

On the 26th, a video titled “After Hearing a Few Words, I Think You Should Go on a Talk Show” was uploaded to the channel ‘Yojung Jaehyung’. Appearing as a guest, Ahn Hyo-seop honestly confessed about the difficult journey from his days as an idol trainee to becoming a top actor.

Recalling his unknown days, Ahn Hyo-seop shared, “During my debut work ‘Pong Dang Pong Dang LOVE’, my Korean was clumsy, so I attended a voice acting academy.” He added with a laugh, “My first pay was 500,000 won per episode, and perhaps because the pay was low, I was gratefully offered many roles.” However, he soon surprised everyone by revealing, “While filming the drama ‘Still 17’, I pushed through an extreme heatwave and eventually fainted. I felt like I was standing on the edge of a cliff because it was so physically demanding, and I seriously considered quitting acting.”

After enduring those painful times, he rose to fame as a hit actor through the 2022 SBS drama ‘Business Proposal’, which recorded a viewership rating of 11.4%. With this experience, Ahn Hyo-seop returned to the small screen through the new SBS Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘Sold Out Today’, which premiered on the 22nd. In this work, he transforms into ‘Matthew Lee’, a warm-hearted young farmer, showcasing a heart-fluttering romance with show host Dam Ye-jin (played by Chae Won-bin). In particular, he is capturing viewers’ attention with his comical and human side as he devotes himself to village tasks, from making kimchi to removing beehives.
Overcoming the moments so difficult that he fainted, Ahn Hyo-seop showed a more mature attitude as an actor, stating, “All those processes made me who I am today.” Netizens are now watching to see if he, who boasts an unrivaled presence in the romantic comedy genre, will write another hit record with this new work.
