Artist Seo Eun-hye, who has Down syndrome, shared her strong determination to achieve economic independence in honor of her first wedding anniversary.
On the 15th, a video titled “Eun-hye and Young-nam’s 1st Anniversary” was uploaded to the ‘Ni Eolgul Eun-hye-ssi’ YouTube channel.
To celebrate their first year of marriage, the couple prepared a special event at the cafe they run. Wearing their wedding rings, they stepped onto a small stage prepared by their family, with cafe customers and family members watching.
Seo Eun-hye shared, “It has already been a year since we got married. I have become independent from my parents, and my husband, Jo Young-nam, has become independent from his facility, and we are living well together. We knew we had to earn money to live our own lives, so we opened a cafe together. I take art commissions in the cafe studio, and my husband takes coffee orders.”
She continued, “We are earning money by doing what we each do best. To mark our first anniversary, I declare our economic independence. In the future, I plan to create a standard workplace for artists with developmental disabilities where fellow artists can make a living through art for the rest of their lives.” She added her determination, saying, “I will do my best until the day comes when our parents no longer have to be responsible for our lives.”
Meanwhile, Seo Eun-hye received a lot of love for her role as Han Ji-min’s twin sister in the 2022 tvN drama ‘Our Blues’. She married artist Jo Young-nam last May.
