BIGBANG's Daesung Reveals the

BIGBANG’s Daesung got honest about the reason why BIGBANG only appeared on a single music show in the past. I.O.I members also shared their struggles and the hardships of their short promotional periods, finding common ground with Daesung.

On May 8, a video titled “Guys, do you want to make a comeback?” was uploaded to the YouTube channel ‘Zip Daesung’. I.O.I members Jeon Somi, Choi Yoojung, and Kim Sohye appeared in the video to discuss their 10th anniversary comeback and share behind-the-scenes stories from their past activities.

Mentioning I.O.I’s upcoming first Asia tour, Daesung remarked, “Even though you were crazily busy back then, you couldn’t perform,” adding, “You basically just filled other people’s plates.” Jeon Somi confessed, “It’s a deep regret for us,” while Choi Yoojung lamented, “We set everything up, but we couldn’t even attend all the music shows.” Kim Sohye agreed, saying, “That’s right. We couldn’t go to all of them.”

Jeon Somi recalled her struggles, revealing, “There was a program I really didn’t want to do, but I had to do it for the sake of the music shows.” She shared that it was a haunted house experience and added, “I was so scared. I was only 16 at the time,” leaving everyone surprised.

Hearing this, Daesung spoke candidly about the atmosphere of the music industry in the past. He explained, “There was a culture like that back then. It was like a ‘certain deal.’ It was a system where if you appeared on variety shows, you could also appear on music shows, like a form of mutual aid.”

He further noted, “BIGBANG didn’t do that, which is why we only went to one broadcast.” He caught attention by adding, “We really disliked variety shows, so if we didn’t want to do them, we just didn’t.”

Meanwhile, BIGBANG will meet fans worldwide with a world tour this August to celebrate their 20th debut anniversary.
