A showcase for Taeyang’s fourth full-length album, ‘QUINTESSENCE’, was held on the afternoon of the 18th at the Cube Convention Center in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul.
‘QUINTESSENCE’ is Taeyang’s first full-length album in a whopping nine years. True to its name, which means ‘essence’ or ‘quintessence’, the album reflects Taeyang’s long-term reflections. It aims to solidify his distinct musical color while expanding into a deeper and wider musical world.
The title track, ‘LIVE FAST DIE SLOW’, is a declaration of the time he spent living intensely while maintaining his own center in a fast-paced reality. It features a paradoxical message, depicting pain and destruction through images of bright flames, highlighting a strong will to keep moving forward even on an unknown path.
During the event, Taeyang introduced ‘LIVE FAST DIE SLOW’, saying, “Although we live in a rapidly changing era, I have reached this point at my own pace and in my own direction. This song contains my will and thought to continue living each day by burning myself according to my own speed and direction. I think it might be the fastest song I’ve ever released.”
Taeyang’s fourth full-length album, ‘QUINTESSENCE’, will be released on various online music sites on the 18th at 6 PM.
