BTS just set Mexico City on fire with their world tour ‘ARIRANG’!

The group won over the crowd with a special performance tailored specifically for the local fans, blending in Mexican culture.
For their ‘Aliens’ stage, they brought out dancers wearing traditional Mexican Lucha Libre masks! They also showed off their wit during the improv session by picking ‘Airplane pt.2′, with lyrics that said, “We goin’ from Mexico City.”
V even grabbed a local snack called Banderilla during the ‘IDOL’ performance, and clips of this moment have already gone viral across social media!

The energy outside the venue was just as intense. Local authorities estimate that around 35,000 fans gathered around the stadium on the second and third days of the show, leading to temporary road closures as the crowds spilled over.
The LA Times noted that it is rare for a boy band to become a point of interest in international diplomacy, adding that over 1 million people attempted to purchase tickets, with many who missed out gathering around the venue.
BTS’s economic power is also making headlines. The Mexico City Chamber of Commerce expects the concerts to generate an economic impact of approximately $107.5 million (about 155.7 billion KRW), including ticket sales, flights, accommodation, food, and local spending. Specifically, the accommodation sector is estimated to bring in $17 million (about 24.6 billion KRW), while food and beverage services are expected to reach $2.18 million (about 3.2 billion KRW).
BTS will continue their world tour at Stanford Stadium on the 16th, 17th, and 19th. The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) announced via social media that they plan to operate special bus routes for the concerts.
