Releasing on the 15th, ‘Wonderfools’ is a comic adventure set in 1999 during the peak of apocalyptic theories. It follows local “dummies” who accidentally gain superpowers to face off against villains threatening the city. With a cast of characters described as “messes,” “nuisances,” and “pushovers,” the journey to save the world promises a mix of laughter and humanism, offering a fresh twist on the K-hero genre.
However, the production faced an unexpected variable when controversy erupted over Cha Eun-woo’s unpaid taxes just before the release. Although the fines have been paid in full, public opinion remains divided. Especially since Cha Eun-woo plays a “city hall civil servant,” there are concerns about whether viewers will be able to fully immerse themselves in the role.

When asked about Cha Eun-woo, Park Eun-bin drew attention by emphasizing teamwork rather than mentioning the issue directly. She stated, “The director prioritized the harmony of the entire team, and I also focused most on that part during filming,” adding, “It is a result that everyone worked their hardest to create.”
Director Yoo In-sik provided a more direct answer regarding the unexpected Cha Eun-woo variable. He explained, “The issue occurred while editing and post-production were already well underway,” and added, “I approached the final stages of work by prioritizing the completion and quality of the piece itself over the controversy.”
Park Eun-bin’s character in ‘Wonderfools’, Eun-chaeni, is the immature granddaughter of a woman who runs the most famous restaurant in the fictional city of Haeseong. Known for her blunt personality and inability to hold back her words, Park Eun-bin described her as “a reckless character, to the point where her nickname is ‘개차반’ [mess].” She added, “I enjoyed playing the simplest character I’ve ever portrayed.”
Expectations are high as this project marks the reunion of Director Yoo In-sik and Park Eun-bin following the syndrome-level success of ‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo’. Director Yoo showed deep trust in Park Eun-bin, calling her “an actress for whom nothing is impossible.”
