Choi Jun-hee, daughter of the late Choi Jin-sil, is speaking out against rumors targeting the family who raised her shortly after her wedding.
On the 18th, Choi Jun-hee shared a snippet of a conversation with her family on her Instagram, stating, “The whole family is furious.”
She warned, “People keep saying nonsense, like that my great-aunt was a sitter or whatever. I will catch every single person spreading these groundless rumors.”
This response follows posts in some online communities that belittled the great-aunt who attended the wedding, claiming she was a “paid sitter.”
In another post on the same day, Choi Jun-hee expressed her deep affection for her great-aunt. Posting a photo of herself in her wedding dress next to her great-aunt in a hanbok, she wrote, “The grandmother my mom loved the most, and the grandmother I love the most.” She added, “This universe of a grandmother raised a life. No matter what anyone says, I love her most in the world.”
The great-aunt mentioned by Choi Jun-hee has rarely appeared in public. By describing her as the person her “mom loved most,” Choi Jun-hee hinted at the special bond the great-aunt shared with the late Choi Jin-sil.
Following the passing of Choi Jin-sil in 2008, Choi Jun-hee and her brother Choi Hwan-hee were cared for by their maternal grandmother, Ms. Jung. However, it was revealed in July 2023 that their relationship had soured, involving a report for trespassing, though Choi Jun-hee later apologized and signed a non-punishment petition.
On the 16th, Choi Jun-hee held her wedding at a hotel in Gangnam, Seoul, marrying a non-celebrity man 11 years her senior. Instead of parents, her brother Choi Hwan-hee walked her down the aisle. The event was hosted by Jo Se-ho and attended by close friends of the late Choi Jin-sil, including Uhm Jung-hwa, Hong Jin-kyung, Lee So-ra, Lee Young-ja, and Jung Sun-hee.
