IVE is fighting back against the indiscriminate and malicious slander directed at their members.
Their agency, Starship Entertainment, has clearly defined the scope of their legal action and reiterated that they will take a strong stand without any leniency.
In an official statement on the 26th, Starship Entertainment announced, “We are currently taking strong legal action without exception against malicious slander, including the spread of false information, defamation, sexual harassment, personal attacks, insults, and invasion of privacy directed at the members of IVE.”
The agency’s stance is particularly firm. Starship emphasized that malicious commenters cannot escape legal responsibility, stating, “Even if there are attempts to evade responsibility by deleting posts, switching accounts to private, or leaving the platform, the data already secured will be submitted as evidence in criminal proceedings.”
Starship is maintaining constant monitoring for all their artists, not just IVE. Any identified malicious posts will undergo legal review, followed by sequential procedures to hold the perpetrators civilly and criminally liable.
The agency added, “These actions are clear illegal acts that cause serious harm to the artists and cannot be tolerated for any reason. We will continue to use all available means to take legal action under a zero-tolerance policy to protect the rights and dignity of our artists.”
As IVE continues to leap forward as a global group with the support of their fans, all eyes are on whether this intense crackdown will effectively clean up the indiscriminate malicious posts spreading online.
