‘Noona is a Woman to Me’ is back for Season 2! This season promises to stand out with more intense stimulation and faster pacing.
At the press conference for KBS 2TV’s ‘Noona is a Woman to Me 2’ on the 22nd, PD Park Jin-woo and MCs Han Hye-jin, Jang Wooyoung, and DinDin were in attendance. ‘Noona is a Woman to Me’ is a program that depicts the romance between women who have postponed love to focus on their careers and younger men who aren’t bothered by age gaps.
Regarding the direction of Season 2, PD Park Jin-woo explained, “It’s a season where we kept what works and discarded what doesn’t. While Season 1 was about introducing the concept, Season 2 focuses on providing more intuitive fun and immersion. We’ve added more stimulation and ‘dopamine’ elements than in the first season.”
PD Park emphasized sincerity, stating, “In dating shows, the contestants are the most important part. We tried to cast characters who are more proactive and honest about their emotions. The most important condition for casting was finding people who sincerely want to build a relationship within the program.”
The reasons for the MC casting were also revealed. PD Park explained that Han Hye-jin was chosen because “she has the image of a successful noona, and from a younger man’s perspective, she feels like the kind of noona one would want to meet and lean on.” For Jang Wooyoung, he said, “He has a great love for the program, and I felt his wit peaked during the middle of Season 1. I wanted to carry that momentum into Season 2.”
Regarding new MC DinDin, the PD shared, “His attitude and way of speaking are unadorned and straightforward, which left a deep impression. I thought he could add a new color to the program.” He added, “I heard he’s great at flirting and is well-liked by women. We also needed the perspective of a younger brother who grew up with two older sisters.”
DinDin opened up about his experience dating older women. “When dating an older woman, there’s a feeling of wanting to lean on them. Even though they are noonas, there are moments when they want to be seen as women, and when those cute sides show, the walls come down,” he shared. “I preferred older women when I was younger, so I wanted to recall those memories and experience some vicarious satisfaction. After recording, I felt as fluttery and envious as if I had gone back 10 years.”
The MCs also expressed confidence in the Season 2 contestants. Han Hye-jin noted, “While watching Season 1, I wondered if the noona or the younger man was the protagonist, but in Season 2, the younger men are definitely the center. If the men in Season 1 were soft and delicate, the men in Season 2 have a completely different charm. They feel like volcanoes that could erupt at any moment.”
Jang Wooyoung mentioned the contestants’ visuals, adding, “There were moments where I thought, ‘Ah, looks really do matter, you can succeed just with your face without saying anything.’ I was envious and felt that their visuals were a real weapon.”
Han Hye-jin confidently stated, “Occupations and ages are revealed faster than in Season 1. If you watch from the beginning, it will feel much more interesting as it progresses.” DinDin agreed, saying, “It definitely feels like the dopamine has increased. The development is very fast. The dopamine hits constantly, like watching Shorts.”
Specifically, DinDin mentioned, “When watching other dating shows, there are times when it feels like contestants have other motives rather than looking for love, which makes it hard to immerse myself. However, ‘Noona is a Woman to Me’ shows sincerity, so I felt they were genuine. I’m very satisfied with the program for that reason alone.”
