In ‘Detective’s Trade Secrets,’ a fake Taoist who sexually abused a mother and daughter under the guise of exorcising evil spirits sparks outrage among the MCs when he attempts to gaslight an undercover female detective, telling her she must leave her husband.
In the “Detective 24 Hours” segment of Channel A’s ‘Detective’s Trade Secrets’ airing on the 25th, the true identity of a self-proclaimed Taoist who destroyed a peaceful family is finally revealed.
Last week, a daughter’s request to uncover the truth about a Taoist gaslighting her mother left many viewers outraged. According to the client, the Taoist claimed to change the future using psychokinesis and telepathy, demanding sex from the married mother under the pretext of “exorcising demons” and urging her to get a divorce. He also claimed to be a former oriental medicine doctor, performing unlicensed acupuncture and manufacturing and selling unauthorized medicines. Believing she would die if she didn’t follow him, the mother reportedly gave him over 20 million won for “medicine costs.” Adding to the shock, the daughter revealed she was also sexually harassed by him.
This week, the detective team tracks down the Taoist’s absurd claims one by one. First, they contacted the Korean Intellectual Property Office regarding his claim of holding a “noodle patent,” only to find it was a simple trademark, exposing his first lie. The detectives then discovered three noodle shops that used the same name as his trademark, though they are now closed. It turns out the Taoist actually operated those shops himself. Defconn couldn’t hide his disbelief, questioning, “What kind of Taoist runs three noodle shops?” when the man who claimed to have lived in seclusion for 17 years for his studies was revealed to be a former noodle shop owner.
Next, the detective team infiltrates his office, pretending to seek a fortune-telling consultation. Upon meeting the detective, he starts with an ominous warning, saying, “You were destined to die this January,” and attempts the same dangerous gaslighting he used on the client’s mother by telling her she must leave her husband.
Shortly after, while closely examining the detective’s face, he mentions that her “energy is blocked” and immediately shocks everyone with an unpredictable action that crosses the line. Yoo In-na exploded in anger, asking, “What on earth is he doing?” and Defconn was equally shocked, stating, “He doesn’t even know what he’s doing right now.” The brazen reality of the fake Taoist, who shook a mother and daughter’s lives through gaslighting and continues his absurd lies, will be revealed in the full broadcast.
Meanwhile, comedian Shin Bong-sun will appear as a one-day detective in this episode, heating up the atmosphere with her signature witty talk and presence.
‘Detective’s Trade Secrets’ airs Monday, May 25, at 10 PM.
