Fantasy Boys and BAE173 Win Legal Battle Against PocketDol Studio!

Members of Fantasy Boys and BAE173 have won their legal battle to suspend their exclusive contracts with PocketDol Studio, and the court has now dismissed PocketDol Studio’s objection to the ruling.

Lawyer Heo Seong-hoon from Law Firm Liu, who represents six members of Fantasy Boys and BAE173’s Doha, released a statement on the 14th. He announced, “We won the injunction to suspend the exclusive contract filed with the Seoul Central District Court on the 17th of last month. Although PocketDol Studio immediately filed an objection, the members of Fantasy Boys and Doha won that case as well.”

The legal representative added, “The court repeatedly pointed out that ‘PocketDol Studio failed to properly fulfill its settlement obligations,’ recognizing a breach of contract by the agency.” As a result, six members of Fantasy Boys, including Kang Min-seo, and BAE173’s Doha are now free from their exclusive contracts and can pursue their entertainment activities freely.

Lawyer Heo noted that the court’s decision reaffirms the critical importance of a management company’s obligation to provide proper financial settlements.

For some background, Fantasy Boys debuted in 2023 after being selected as the debut group for MBC’s ‘Boys Fantasy’ Season 2. While Yu Jun-won originally took first place in the survival show, he did not join the team due to contract disputes with his agency. The group started with 11 members, but faced a crisis last year when members Kang Min-seo, Lee Han-bin, Hikaru, Hong Seong-min, Kim Gyu-rae, and K-Dan filed for the suspension of their exclusive contracts.
