From Drama Rivals to Big Screen Battle: Koo Kyo-hwan vs. Oh Jung-se!

Actors Koo Kyo-hwan and Oh Jung-se are facing off once again in theaters following their roles in ‘Everyone is Fighting Their Own Worthlessness’. After spending their drama days growling at each other, these two rivals are now taking their battle to the big screen.

Forget the pathetic Dong-man from ‘Everyone is Fighting Their Own Worthlessness’ who spent 20 years “filming movies in his head” and putting others down. In the movie ‘Gunche’, Koo Kyo-hwan’s transformation into biologist Seo Young-cheol is absolutely chilling. While Dong-man was a fragile human who talked incessantly to defend himself from the world’s worthlessness, Seo Young-cheol casts himself as a creator who turns the world upside down after causing a horrific infection outbreak in the Dung-uri Building.

The sensitive “boss” Kyung-se, who trembled at Dong-man’s big mouth in ‘Everyone is Fighting Their Own Worthlessness’, is gone, and a hunter smelling of wild beasts has appeared. In the movie ‘Wild Thing’, Oh Jung-se plays Choi Seong-gon, a tragic ballad prince who hid away in the mountains after earning the bittersweet title of being 2nd place on music shows for 39 consecutive weeks. His past, characterized by flowing long hair and milky skin, is nowhere to be found; instead, his rugged appearance in an old military vest with a shotgun brings laughter from the moment he appears.

These two “small dogs” who once engaged in childish arguments fueled by inferiority complexes are now showcasing massive presence in their main field, the cinema. One grips the audience with breath-taking suspense, while the other disarms them with delightful comedy.

Leaving behind the regular pubs and cramped single rooms of ‘Everyone is Fighting Their Own Worthlessness’, both actors have hit the theaters, playing to 100% of their strengths. Choosing between the polar opposite charms of these two rivals is a true privilege for moviegoers right now. If you want to be swept up in cold tension, head to Koo Kyo-hwan’s ‘Gunche’, and if you want to laugh like crazy, check out Oh Jung-se’s ‘Wild Thing’.

‘Gunche’ is currently playing in theaters, and ‘Wild Thing’ will be released on June 3.
