Currently continuing its long-term success as the second highest-grossing horror film in domestic box office history, ‘Salmokji’ is recapturing audience attention with new stills that capture the tension and character narratives. The film is distributed by Showbox.

‘Salmokji’ is a horror film about a filming team that visits a reservoir for a reshoot after a mysterious figure is spotted in a road view video, only to encounter a hidden entity lurking in the black waters.

The released stills vividly capture the fear and emotional arcs of the characters. First, Su-in, played by Kim Hye-yoon, reveals her wavering emotions amidst guilt toward her senior Gyo-sik and the pressure of taking responsibility for her team. Su-in’s expressions in the stills, which vary between day and night, further amplify the sense of anxiety in the film.

Scenes featuring Su-in and Gi-tae, played by Lee Jong-won, also catch the eye. Despite having already broken up, the way they look out for each other first brings back the reactions of viewers who were immersed in their relationship.

The stills of Gyo-sik, played by Kim Jun-han, create a strange tension. With just a meaningful expression and atmosphere, he reveals a secretive presence that reminds viewers of the movie’s mystery.

Additionally, the stills show the brothers Kyung-tae and Kyung-jun, who initially did not believe in ghosts, gradually being consumed by fear. The terror expressed by Kim Young-sung and Oh Dong-min symbolically shows the tension that grows toward the end of the film.

Yoon Jae-chan, as the youngest PD Sung-bin, and Jang Da-ah, as Se-jung, also show their presence through the stills. Their roles, which blended a naive atmosphere with the confusion and anxiety of facing a curse, remind viewers of their performances that led to unexpected developments in the latter half of the movie.

Continuing its hit streak as the second highest-grossing horror movie of all time, ‘Salmokji’ is now playing in theaters nationwide.
