Based on a bestseller with 2 million copies sold in Korea, the movie ‘Strange Candy Shop Zenitendo’ has confirmed its release date for May 29 and has unveiled its main poster and trailer.

The film ‘Strange Candy Shop Zenitendo’ is a fantasy drama about a mysterious candy shop called ‘Zenitendo’ where customers with special coins come to have their wishes granted. This live-action adaptation will first hit theaters, followed by a 12-episode series release in the second half of the year. The film is distributed by Plus M Entertainment.
The newly released main poster captures the dreamy atmosphere of Zenitendo, featuring two characters with completely opposite charms. Ra Mi-ran, playing the owner of Zenitendo, ‘Hong-ja’, radiates a mysterious aura with her silver hair, hanbok, and a warm smile. On the other hand, Lee Re, who plays ‘Yomi’, the owner of the rival shop Hwa-ang-dang, shows a powerful presence with an all-black look and a cold gaze. Both actors are drawing attention for their incredible synchronization with the original characters.

The main trailer showcases the intense rivalry between the two and stunning visuals. Along with scenes of various customers visiting Zenitendo, Hong-ja’s meaningful line, “Luck can easily turn into misfortune,” hints at a mysterious atmosphere that goes beyond a simple fantasy.
Tension rises as Yomi, who seeks to disrupt Zenitendo, appears and is confronted by Hong-ja. Hong-ja’s line, “Did you really think you could just go back?” suggests a fierce battle is about to unfold between the two.
‘Strange Candy Shop Zenitendo’ will open in theaters nationwide on May 29.
