“Global Appeal is the Key!” Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung Shares What to Expect from the ‘Produce Japan’ Debut Group

‘PRODUCE 101 JAPAN SHINSEKAI’ is the fourth series of Japan’s largest idol survival audition program, ‘PRODUCE 101 JAPAN’. The boy group formed through this series is set to expand its global fandom, starting with a simultaneous debut in Korea and Japan.

From the initial grade evaluations to group battles and position evaluations, ‘Produce Japan SHINSEKAI’ has been on a journey to create a global boy group. With 35 survivors confirmed during the second ranking announcement on the 14th, ‘Producer Representatives’ Dean Fujioka and Choi Sooyoung have raised excitement by sharing the trainees’ growth and the team’s potential.

Dean Fujioka, the ‘National Producer Representative’ for Japan, commented, “While the trainees’ performance skills and expressiveness have improved, the change I’ve noticed most is in their ‘eyes’.” He added, “Beyond simply doing it because they want to or love it, meanings on a whole new level are layering. Because of this, I think each person’s individuality and character are becoming more prominent.”

Choi Sooyoung, a member of Girls’ Generation and the ‘SEKAI Producer Representative’ representing the global fandom, shared, “Since members with such diverse personalities and charms have come together, I believe they’ll show powerful energy and teamwork on stage, while revealing natural chemistry and sincerity off stage.”

With previous ‘Produce Japan’ groups like JO1, INI, and ME:I topping the Oricon charts and maintaining massive popularity in Japan, music fans are eagerly anticipating the debut group from ‘Produce Japan SHINSEKAI’.
