Actress Han Chae-ah took cooking lessons from a famous chef to prepare a special birthday meal for her father-in-law, Cha Bum-kun.
On the 10th, a video titled “Before visiting my in-laws, I took private lessons from Chef Jang Ho-jun” was uploaded to the online channel ‘Han Chae-ah’.
The video captures Han Chae-ah learning the art of cooking from Chef Jang Ho-jun. Han Chae-ah explained, “My parents-in-law live together in Goheung. Unless there is something special in Seoul, they stay there. They say they love Goheung. While Seoul is great, the air is fresh and it is quiet there. They relax there and come up to Seoul when they have work.”
Han Chae-ah confessed, “May is Family Month, and it is also my father-in-law’s birthday month. I often feel like I want to do something for him. However, my father-in-law has a very sensitive, picky, and detailed palate. Because of that, I feel quite pressured to just cook something and serve it.”
She continued, “Luckily, I got to know Chef Jang Ho-jun around that time and thought it would be great to learn how to cook. I think my father-in-law and mother-in-law would be so happy if I said, ‘I am not sure if it suits your taste, but I made this for you,’ so I decided to learn.”
Han Chae-ah learned how to make Sukiyaki and Beef Bulgogi from Chef Jang Ho-jun. Once the dishes were finished, Han Chae-ah expressed her gratitude and joked, “Next stop, Goheung!” Chef Jang Ho-jun responded, “If you invite me to Goheung, I will show you some charcoal dishes that can be made outdoors… I would like to set a date and meet your legendary father-in-law.”
Meanwhile, Han Chae-ah married Cha Se-zzi, the son of former football manager Cha Bum-kun, in 2018, and they have one daughter.
