‘Fifties Professionals’ is gearing up to be a total character feast!
Premiering May 22, MBC’s new Friday-Saturday drama ‘Fifties Professionals’ (Planned by Kwon Seong-chang, Directed by Han Dong-hwa, Written by Jang Won-seop, Produced by Jumbo Film and Studio Dragon) tells the story of three men who seemed ordinary but once held significant power, brought back into action by fate.
It is a “salty” action comedy featuring real pros who have completed 50% of their lives. Though they may be worn down by the world and a bit rusty, their loyalty and instincts remain as sharp as ever.
The series boasts a powerhouse cast including the reliable Shin Ha-kyun (as Jung Ho-myung), Oh Jung-se (as Bong Je-soon/Bulgae), and Heo Sung-tae (as Kang Beom-ryong), along with Kim Shin-rok (as Kang Young-ae) and Lee Hak-joo (as Ma Gong-bok). Special appearances by Kim Sang-kyung (as Han Kyung-wook) and Kwon Yul (as Chairman Do) are also set to spark interest.
Adding to the excitement is a lineup of seasoned actors including Han Ji-eun (as Park Mi-kyung), Kim Sang-ho (as Team Leader Jo), Hyun Bong-sik (as Yoo In-gu), Shin Dong-mi (as Kwon Oh-ran), Lee Soon-won (as Geum Gang-sik), Lee Han-wi (as President Kwon), Kim Byung-ok (as Hwang Hwa-san), and Jung Suk-yong (as Ri Cheol-jin).
Han Ji-eun will play police officer Park Mi-kyung of the Yeongseon District Office, while Kim Sang-ho takes on the role of Jo Seong-won, the leader of the NIS anti-communist investigation team. Hyun Bong-sik will transform into Yoo In-gu, the boss of the Ingu gang, and Shin Dong-mi will play Kwon Oh-ran, Ho-myung’s wife.
Lee Soon-won will play Geum Gang-sik, the second-in-command of the Ingu gang, and Lee Han-wi will play President Kwon, the owner of Oh-ran Restaurant and a doting father. Additionally, Kim Byung-ok will play Hwang Hwa-san, the leader of the Hwasan gang, and Jung Suk-yong will play Ri Cheol-jin, the head of the People’s Armed Forces special forces.
The production team shared, “With the passionate performances of actors like Han Ji-eun, Kim Sang-ho, Hyun Bong-sik, and Shin Dong-mi, ‘Fifties Professionals’ will become an even more solid and entertaining drama.” They added, “Please look forward to the unique fun created by their synergy and supporting roles alongside Shin Ha-kyun, Oh Jung-se, and Heo Sung-tae.”
