Han Sun Hwa, star of the upcoming movie ‘Trainee Teacher’, recently sat down for an interview at a charming cafe in Samcheong-dong, Seoul.
During the interview, Han Sun Hwa dished on the viral wedding congratulatory song scene from ‘Mothers and Sons’, which premiered on the 18th of last month. She revealed, “The original script didn’t specify a song; it just said a congratulatory song would be performed.” She added, “Everyone who read the script said it brought tears to their eyes. I even got teary-eyed myself and knew we had to film it spectacularly!”
She continued, “When discussing song choices with the director and Koo Kyo Hwan, we initially considered a Beyoncé track. Many ideas were tossed around, but unfortunately, budget constraints for music licensing prevented us from moving forward.” That’s when Han Sun Hwa stepped in, “I then suggested Psy sunbaenim’s song, and that’s what we went with!”
Han Sun Hwa recalled, “Ultimately, we settled on Psy’s ‘Art of Dance’ (예술이야), and they even choreographed the arm movements to perfectly match the song, making them look so lively! We practiced about three times before shooting.” She added, “The set felt just like any other acting scene, but it was also quite challenging to sing after such a long time!”
“I’m so thrilled that scene became such a hot topic!” she exclaimed. “It really highlighted the relationship between Miran and Dongman.” She confessed, “I was already so moved by the script, so when I watched the filmed version, I was busy monitoring my own acting and wasn’t as deeply touched as the first time. But seeing so many viewers react with such enthusiasm made me incredibly happy!”
Mark your calendars! ‘Trainee Teacher’, set to premiere on the 13th, is described as a “high school horrobly comedy.” It follows Eunkyung, a passionate MZ generation trainee teacher who must face a deadly mock exam against a Suneung ghost, alongside a group of girls from a black magic club. Han Sun Hwa takes on the role of Eunkyung, the spirited MZ trainee teacher.
