Comedian Heo Kyung-hwan has been cast as the female lead, stepping in for actress Kim Won-hee.
In the May 9th episode of MBC’s variety show ‘Hangout with Yoo’ (episode 328), ‘PD Yoo’ Yoo Jae-suk attempted to produce a short-form drama alongside Haha, Heo Kyung-hwan, Joo Woo-jae, Jung Jun-ha, Kim Seok-hoon, and Kim Sung-kyun.
Upon reviewing the script for ‘I Decided to Take Back the Woman My Younger Brother Stole’ written by Haha, Heo Kyung-hwan was completely baffled. “This is the worst. What is this? Heo In-ok? Am I appearing as a woman?” he exclaimed, discovering on the day of production that he had been cast as the female lead.
Yoo Jae-suk explained, “I’ll be honest. Casting didn’t go well. We contacted Won-hee, but after much deliberation, it didn’t work out because the timing wasn’t right.”
Yoo Jae-suk then expressed concern over Heo Kyung-hwan’s facial hair, saying, “Kyung-hwan, let me see your beard for a second.” Noticing the dark stubble, Yoo Jae-suk remarked, “It’s still bluish even though you shaved.” Heo Kyung-hwan explained that he hadn’t been able to get many laser treatments because he was too busy, but Yoo Jae-suk pushed forward, saying, “Let’s just go. It can’t be helped. We don’t have much of a budget.”
