The movie ‘Hope’ will make its grand debut with a world premiere on the 17th at 9:30 PM (local time) at the Grand Théâtre Lumière in Cannes, France!
Adding to the excitement, director Na Hong-jin and actors Hwang Jung-min, Jo In-sung, Jung Ho-yeon, Michael Fassbender, Alicia Vikander, and Taylor Russell have all confirmed their attendance, ramping up expectations for global movie fans.
In the film, Hwang Jung-min plays Beom-seok, the head of the Hopo-hang branch office located in the DMZ, while Jo In-sung stars as the village youth Seong-gi and Jung Ho-yeon as police officer Seong-ae. Adding a layer of mystery, Michael Fassbender, Alicia Vikander, and Taylor Russell will portray alien characters through motion and facial capture.
Director Na Hong-jin and the cast will walk the red carpet and attend the world premiere on the 17th, followed by an official photocall and press conference on the 18th to meet the global press.
‘Hope’ tells the story of Beom-seok, the head of the Hopo-hang branch office in the DMZ, who hears reports of a tiger appearing from the local youth. As the entire village falls into chaos, they are forced to face an unbelievable reality.
The film has already garnered attention, with the president of the Cannes Film Festival praising it by saying, “The genre constantly changes, unfolding a new story that has never been dealt with before.”
As this is a long-awaited new project from director Na Hong-jin, who established a unique cinematic world through films like ‘The Chaser’, ‘The Yellow Sea’, and ‘The Wailing’, all eyes are on how ‘Hope’ will be received at Cannes. The movie is scheduled to hit theaters this summer.
