“What do you mean you took your friend’s car?”

Yoo Jae-suk, Joo Woo-jae, and Lee Sun-min turned into “car thieves” and “dine-and-dashers” just to avoid footing the bill on ‘How Do You Play?’
The May 16 episode of MBC’s ‘How Do You Play?’ featured the ‘War of Money in Changwon’ with Yoo Jae-suk, Haha, Heo Kyung-hwan, Joo Woo-jae, Yang Sang-guk, and new guest Lee Sun-min. The show ranked #1 among Saturday variety shows, recording a 4.3% rating in the Seoul metropolitan area and a 2.7% rating for the 20-54 age group. The peak rating hit 6.2% during the ending where Heo Kyung-hwan was betrayed by everyone and left to pay the entire bill.
This ‘War of Money’ took place in Changwon, Gyeongsangnam-do, the hometown Joo Woo-jae had been longing for. Haha bragged about being a “real Changwon local” after attending school there for six years, but Joo Woo-jae countered by highlighting his “Changwon elite” path, having attended kindergarten, elementary, middle, high school, and even a prep academy there.
Joining them was Lee Sun-min, a “true Gyeongsang-do local” from Gumi. When Lee Sun-min introduced himself as being born in 1988, the same age as G-Dragon, everyone shouted, “Stop lying!” in total confusion. While his intense gaze initially intimidated the older members, he quickly brought laughter by doing a spot-on impression of actor Noh Joo-hyun. He blended into the group as the “energetic Gumi boy,” politely taking care of his seniors.
Joo Woo-jae then led the group to his old elementary school for a trip down memory lane. However, the students were more excited about the drone camera than Joo Woo-jae, leading Heo Kyung-hwan to tease him, saying the drone was more popular. Another child caused a laugh by telling Yoo Jae-suk, “I saw you avoiding paying!”
Next, they visited Joo Woo-jae’s favorite Milmyeon restaurant. Heo Kyung-hwan tried to get a laugh with his own stories, but was met with an awkward silence, leaving Lee Sun-min looking bewildered. A flustered Heo Kyung-hwan then tried to give “broadcasting tips,” telling him, “TV isn’t hard, just be comfortable,” which made everyone burst into laughter. A big arm-wrestling match also broke out between “Suyu-ri Branch” Yoo Jae-suk and “Changwon Bone” Joo Woo-jae over who would pay for the meal. Yoo Jae-suk snatched the victory using a headbutt and a two-handed foul.
After sweating it out at the Changdong Art Village and an arcade, they enjoyed their final feast. As it came time to pay, a fierce psychological war began. Starting with Yoo Jae-suk’s sudden escape, the restaurant quickly turned into chaos. While everyone else was listening to the game rules, Yoo Jae-suk slipped outside and hopped into a car. Joo Woo-jae and Lee Sun-min joined him, forming a “fugitive team.” The quick-witted Haha also escaped and went into “survival mode” near the restaurant.
Heo Kyung-hwan and Yang Sang-guk were left behind in disbelief. To make matters worse, the car Yoo Jae-suk drove away in was borrowed from Yang Sang-guk’s friend, leaving Yang Sang-guk baffled, shouting, “How could you take your friend’s car?” Meanwhile, Haha contacted the restaurant owner to press for payment, and Yang Sang-guk tried to make a run for it while pretending to investigate who was manipulating the owner. Left all alone, a devastated Heo Kyung-hwan wailed, “Where did everyone go?” and ended up paying the full 204,000 KRW in a pitiful finale.
Viewers reacted with comments like, “Born in ’88?”, “LOL the drone is the graduate,” and “Joo Woo-jae is so funny, he carried the show.”
Meanwhile, a teaser showed the members being summoned to the Joseon Dynasty to receive a royal decree from King Sejong. Fans are now looking forward to seeing the members as the “King’s Messengers.” MBC’s ‘How Do You Play?’ airs every Saturday at 6:30 PM.
