“I Am Solo” Season 31 Hits Peak Chaos: Will Two Cast Members Leave Early Amid Growing Controversy?

“I Am Solo” Season 31 is under fire for bullying allegations and the inappropriate behavior of its cast. The situation has reached a breaking point, with viewers outraged after Sun-ja was rushed to the hospital in an unprecedented turn of events. Now, suspicions are swirling that Sun-ja may have left the program, following in Hyun-sook’s footsteps.

In the episode aired on May 13 at 10:30 PM on SBS Plus and ENA, the conflict among the cast of Solo Land 31 over the “Super Date Ticket” escalated into total chaos.

During a running mission for the ticket, Sun-ja took first place. However, Young-sook, who fell during the race, sparked doubt by making baseless claims that someone had tripped her. Later, Ok-soon, Young-sook, and Jung-hee gathered and intentionally excluded Sun-ja from their conversation. Ok-soon fueled the isolation by stating, “In our hearts, Young-sook is number one.” Young-sook also targeted Sun-ja with sharp remarks, claiming she felt she was tripped. Overhearing this from behind a door, a tearful Sun-ja expressed her distress, saying, “The girls’ talk in that room is so scary.”

This isn’t the first time Ok-soon has been at the center of controversy. In previous episodes, she made rude comments to a depressed Sun-ja, asking, “Who died?”, “It’s like a funeral home,” and telling her to “just smile.” Due to the continuous mental distress and stress, Sun-ja suffered severe stomach pain and was transported to the hospital via ambulance for gastric spasms. Even then, Young-sook shocked viewers with her cold reaction, asking, “Should I wail too?”

Meanwhile, Kyung-soo faced criticism for his selfish attitude. Despite the urgent situation where Sun-ja could barely stand, he focused only on his own gain. Having already decided to use his date ticket on Young-sook, Kyung-soo asked Sun-ja to win a ticket for him, then contradictorily stated, “I’m being selfish, but I wish Sun-ja would use the Super Date Ticket on me,” while adding, “I will use mine on Young-sook.”

Following the broadcast, rumors of Sun-ja’s “early departure” have spread rapidly across online communities. Some viewers pointed out that Sun-ja’s outfit and hairstyle remained unchanged in her interview footage. These rumors were amplified by a netizen claiming to be an acquaintance, who testified that “Sun-ja did leave early” and provided a specific account that she “left on the morning of the fourth day.”

Viewers have reacted cynically to the production team’s editing, accusing them of “image laundering” by significantly reducing Ok-soon’s screen time and deleting unbroadcast footage to avoid backlash. Some even commented that Hyun-sook, who was the first to leave early, is the “real winner.” The extreme conflict has led to “review terror” targeting Young-ho’s dental clinic and Kyung-soo’s eyewear shop, as viewers’ immersion turned into real-world attacks. Currently, neither the production team nor the cast members have released an official statement.
