MBC’s I Live Alone has officially claimed the throne! The show ranked number one among variety programs for the first week of May (based on 2054 ratings), holding onto the top spot for two weeks in a row.
The hilarious challenge of the “Fun Run Crew Mudoraji” and the fantastic chemistry between Seo Bum-jun and TXT’s Yeonjun delivered both laughs and relatable moments, proving why this show is a variety powerhouse.
In the episode aired on May 8, viewers got to see the second part of the “Whale Run” by the “Fun Run Crew 1st Gen Mudoraji” led by Jun Hyun-moo, as well as a glimpse into the daily lives of Seo Bum-jun and Yeonjun.
According to Nielsen Korea, the episode hit 4.6% in the capital region, ranking first among Friday variety shows. It also topped the 2054 ratings (a key indicator of channel competitiveness) at 2.7%, making it the number one variety show for both Friday and the first week of May. The peak minute rating soared to 5.9%!
The “best minute” of the episode featured Jun Hyun-moo sprinting toward the final course wrapped in a blanket after some dizzying activities, leaving viewers in stitches.
The “Fun Run 1st Gen Mudoraji” members, Jun Hyun-moo, Park Ji-hyun, Dowoon, and Bae Nara, showed incredible teamwork, pushing and pulling each other through a tough uphill course. During the final downhill stretch, Jun Hyun-moo sprinted at full speed, throwing down a challenge to “real runners” Sean and Kian84. In the end, Mudoraji completed the 12.62km “Whale Run” in 5 hours and 35 minutes. Despite a unique pace of 26 minutes per kilometer, the members felt a huge sense of achievement seeing the whale shape they had mapped out.
After finishing, they relaxed with half-body baths at a seaside lodging for some well-deserved after-care. While Jun Hyun-moo and the crew expressed excitement for “Fun Run 2nd Gen” and even joked about a “Pig Run” concept, Dowoon provided a plot twist by declaring his departure, saying, “I don’t think running is for me.”
Meanwhile, Seo Bum-jun and his bestie, TXT’s Yeonjun, showed off their playful chemistry while deep-cleaning the house. The “Sleeveless Brothers” struggled hilariously to pull out a tile rug from under the bed. Later, Seo Bum-jun prepared stir-fried webfoot octopus and chive kimbap for a massive mukbang with Yeonjun, making everyone crave the food. Seo Bum-jun shared a heartwarming moment, thanking Yeonjun and describing him as feeling like a “pacemaker.”
