Park Jung-min’s Hilarious Misunderstanding in Japan: “Are You Taking This Because She’s Pretty?”

Park Jung-min's Hilarious Misunderstanding in Japan:

Actor Park Jung-min recently opened up about a super embarrassing moment he had while visiting Japan.

On May 10, a video titled “I visited a bookstore in Tokyo. Publisher CEO’s business trip vlog” was uploaded to the YouTube channel ‘Publisher Muze MUZE’.

In the vlog, Park Jung-min documents his business trip to Tokyo for publishing work. He explained, “I met with several publishers and editors in Japan for work. Since today is my day off, I’m planning to visit a bookstore in Ginza.”

After browsing the bookstore, Park Jung-min shared a heartwarming encounter. “After visiting Tsutaya bookstore, something amazing happened. The staff said something in Japanese, and when I told them I couldn’t speak the language, they asked in Korean, ‘Are you Korean?’ Then they asked, ‘Are you Park Jung-min?’ and requested an autograph. I think they were a student working part-time abroad, and it made me feel proud. It felt like something that would happen on ‘Sponge’.”

However, Park Jung-min then recalled another incident, saying, “Yesterday, something truly embarrassing happened.”

He shared, “I was walking down the street and saw some election posters. There was one poster of a woman, so I was using Google Image Translate to see what it said. Right then, I heard a voice next to me saying, ‘Hello?'”

“I turned around and saw a Korean woman with a young girl who looked like her daughter,” he said. “She asked, ‘Are you taking a photo because she’s pretty?’ I tried to explain that the poster just looked out of place, but she seemed to think, ‘Ah… (he’s taking it because she’s pretty),’ which was just hilarious.”

Park Jung-min added with an awkward laugh, “The woman told her daughter, ‘Say goodbye to the mister,’ and the daughter confidently replied, ‘I know.’ I immediately put my phone down and saw them off.”

He further clarified, “It probably looked like I was taking a photo of a beautiful woman’s face on a poster, so I hope there’s no misunderstanding.”

Regarding the poster, he noted, “That person was actually running for election. While others had campaign pledges, this one had a pinky photo with dogs, cats, and an SNS QR code. Isn’t that surprising?”

Park Jung-min previously made headlines for his special performance with singer Hwasa during her ‘Good Goodbye’ stage at the Blue Dragon Film Awards late last year.
