I.O.I is finally reuniting with the brothers after 10 long years!
On the May 16 episode of JTBC’s ‘Knowing Bros’ airing at 9 PM, I.O.I will appear together to celebrate their 10th debut anniversary. Returning to the “Knowing Bros school” after a long time, they are set to deliver a special time filled with their upgraded wit and unchanging teamwork.
Having appeared on ‘Knowing Bros’ as their final full-group variety show appearance before ending activities in 2016, I.O.I opens up about their past. They shared their regrets, saying, “Since we were the first group from an audition program, we weren’t sure if we would succeed, so our contract period was the shortest.” Adding to the excitement, they also shared news of their first-ever overseas concert tour!
Chungha was named the MVP of the reunion. She shared a touching story about how she decided to bring the group back together after seeing fans still holding I.O.I albums and lightsticks at events to get her signature.
Jeon Somi expressed her love for their new music, revealing, “I participated in writing the lyrics for the title track ‘Suddenly’.” I.O.I performed a medley of their hit songs along with their new track, prompting the cast to follow along with the songs and choreography. Moved by the cast’s enthusiastic response, Jeon Somi burst into tears, which in turn made Choi Yoojung emotional. The members then comforted each other in a heartwarming scene.
The members also revealed some surprising charms. Kim Sohye, who became famous for the line “Sohye, do you want to be a singer?” during the audition program, caught everyone’s attention by overcoming her dance trauma. She performed an impressive dance to Tyla’s ‘Water,’ leading Kang Ho-dong to joke, “The dance was so intense I thought her neck was going to fall off,” sparking laughter.
Yoo Yeonjung added more interest by revealing she is known as the “influencer” within I.O.I, saying, “If I recommend something, the members do a group purchase.” Jeon Somi praised Yoo Yeonjung’s persuasive speaking style, saying, “The way she talks is so tasty that you can’t help but buy it.” Yoo Yeonjung then surprised everyone by revealing an unexpected item she had recommended.
