Even when a fan commented criticizing the hate, Ivy added, “They would probably die if they didn’t criticize looks or age. They do that to the most stunning celebrities, so why not me? I should be criticized.”
In the past, she mentioned the difficulties caused by malicious comments. In an interview on KBS2’s ‘Entertainment Weekly’ aired in April 2012, Ivy thought of her family and said, “I didn’t know what to do when my father encountered hate comments.” At the time, she expressed her apologies, noting that her family might have been more affected than she was.
Unlike the past when she worried about her family’s pain, Ivy has shown a changed attitude in how she deals with hate comments.
◆ “Show Me Your Bank Account”… Jang Keun-suk Fights Back
Jang Keun-suk shared his experiences of reacting directly to hate comments. Depending on the situation, he has either laughed them off or stepped in to provide explanations and correct misunderstandings.

He also mentioned hate comments regarding his appearance. He added, “I was bothered by comments like ‘skin is sagging,’ ‘looks like an ajumma,’ or ‘plastic surgery went wrong.'” Because he has been active for a long time, there have been constant criticisms regarding changes in his appearance and rumors of plastic surgery. Whenever rumors about a nose job surfaced, Jang Keun-suk actively denied them and expressed his frustration.
There was also a case where he corrected a misunderstanding by revealing the facts through a comment. In November 2023, through his YouTube channel ‘I am Jang Keun-suk’, he revealed that he came across comments in a car community calling his car “tacky” and “cheap.” He shared that after he left a comment saying, “I am Jang Keun-suk,” and explained the car, the atmosphere of the comments changed.

He simply accepted the fact that he does not always perfectly understand Korean comments. This revealed an attitude of not being overly conscious of hate comments or not giving them much meaning.
However, he showed a different reaction in other content. In a video on the YouTube channel ‘Svalbard Storage’ last April, he drew a line, saying of hate comments, “Those people only live in that place. They can’t come over to our side.”
At that moment, comedian Lee Chang-ho suddenly shook the atmosphere by saying, “He’s not even a man.” When Choo Sung-hoon asked, “What?”, Lee Chang-ho added, “This is how people write it,” and “Can’t even fight.”
Seeing the usually confident Choo Sung-hoon momentarily shaken by hate comments delivered to his face sparked laughter.
Choo Sung-hoon’s ability to handle hate comments cheerfully without letting them bother him is quite impressive.
