Entertainer and former announcer Jang Sung-kyu was deeply moved by a heartwarming message from his former teacher.
On May 14, Jang Sung-kyu shared on social media, “Ahead of Teacher’s Day, my teacher sent me a text. They found a handwritten letter from high school Sung-kyu from 25 years ago!”
In the photos shared, a text message from the teacher dated May 13, 2001, is visible. The teacher praised Jang Sung-kyu, writing, “You said you would definitely make it! And you really did make it,” expressing great pride in his success.
Jang Sung-kyu added, “My spelling and expressions were clumsy, but I feel blessed once again by my teacher, who kept my sincerity and recalled those memories. A teacher’s grace is like the sky; the more I look up, the higher it seems. Thank you, teacher.”
Meanwhile, Jang Sung-kyu was born on April 21, 1983, and is 43 years old. He married Lee Yu-mi, an elementary school classmate he reunited with in college, after dating for 10 years. They have two sons.
Additionally, Jang Sung-kyu purchased a building in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, for 6.5 billion won in 2021. The market value of the building has reportedly risen to around 10 billion won.
